Back in London!

Hi everyone!

As you're reading this I will be back at the normal routine of college - the joys! For some light reading on a Friday, I'll be sharing my trip to London a few weeks back with my family - enjoy reading!

It seems like a normal tradition in my house to do a spur of the moment London trip at least twice a year - usually one in the summer and usually one in the winter. Our past London spur of the moment outings have consisted of: Madame Tussards, The London Eye, swimming in the Olympic pool, travelling on O2 cable carts and visiting the Tower of London - as well as multiple concerts that have taken place at Wembley and a few West End shows (most, if not all pictured below!)

We've done quite a bit in London in the past, so what more could we possibly do? That was our exact thoughts at 9am on a Friday morning! We always take a picnic out with us so lunch was covered and knew where we were heading: Canary Wharf. And what Canary Wharf offers is the legendary Boris Bikes - something that we're all keen on going on to get us around and about London! (Did you know Santander have taken them over? They used to be by Barclays (right) but they're exactly the same with different logos)

It's always a laugh on the bikes - especially when you're with your family (who are extremely keen on having races on 3 shift gear bikes!) Plus you get to see beautiful views that you don't normally get to see if you're sitting on the tube. We had the perfect weather for the bikes so it was more like a "why not" moment.

We finally got to Tower Bridge and took a few snaps there:

And then we thought "why not" once again and decided to take the Tower Bridge tour! I won't ruin the whole experience for you, buy for £6 a ticket for myself, you could see why it was fairly reasonable! However, the funnest part of the whole experience was definitely the glass floor to look and people walking below our feet. We also had the experience of seeing the bridge lift (which I've never seen before with my own eyes) from a completely different angle!

After taking part in the Tower Bridge tour - we walked alongside the Thames and we saw a hula hooping event happening across the way. We had to take part! Here's an image my mother put up on Facebook which has the caption: "Josh and Grace hula hooping by Kens Knob." How charming!

And then we rode back on our Boris bikes and went home! It was a simple day out, but extremely enjoyable to spend the day together (which is a lot harder than it used to be!) After my post last week, I felt like those moments are for treasuring in the future, hence why this simple day has been given its own blog post!

See you in the next blog post,
