My Hair Wash routine

Hi everyone!

Feels like I haven't done a hair tutorial in ages - and I've been meaning to do this post for a while but I haven't kept up with the same routine for a while - this is my current go to tips which I do when I wash my hair. I have been asked in the past what I do and this current routine has been my favourite so far. The tips that I've gathered together are all from different routines that I've tried out in the past! Lets get into it:

Currently, the shampoo and conditioner I'm using is the VO5 Revive Me Daily. The formula is specialised into re nourishing your hair from being dry and damaged. Shampoos & conditioners don't exactly get rid of your split ends or dry hair completely - but I have noticed a little difference in the ends of my hair, they've been less tangly and after first use you can feel the difference too!

Tip #1

Change up your shampoo and conditioner after you have finished the bottles! Your hair won't see the benefit from the shampoo and conditioner which they claim to give your hair. Also, its nice to try out different types of shampoos every few weeks, you can always go back to your favourite too!

Hairwash routine

Firstly, I like to make sure that my hairs combed out before getting it damp. I use either a paddle brush or a Tangle Teezer to do this. Then, I begin to get in the shower and start getting my hair wet.

Tip #2

If you're hair is just below you shoulders or longer - this is a great thing to do before you begin to wash your hair. Apply a small amount of conditioner to the ends of your hair and then proceed to wash it out. This just make the ends much easier to comb out afterwards!

After washing the first lot of conditioner out - I then just start shampooing. Theres no real special technique here - I just use a lot as I feel I have a lot of hair to wash! I don't rinse and repeat however, as using too much shampoo can stop your hair from growing - not great when you're wanting to grow it out!

Tip #3

I then start to put conditioner in the ends of my hair. You can use your fingers to put the conditioner through the ends thoroughly - but you can do one better and use a wide tooth comb/ shower comb to ensure all the conditioner gets through. I leave it in for 2 minutes - which is hard to do when you're showering!

Tip #4

The final thing I do is to turn the temperature down to cold and rinse the conditioner out. It isn' the nicest thing to do but it makes the conditioner grip onto my hair for longer giving it the softer feeling! And then I either let my hair air dry or blow dry it after.

And that's my overall hair routine for the shower! These are just tips that I've gathered together and it has really benefitted my hair overall! Let me known if you have any tips and...

See you in the next blog post,
